Safefloor Guard NFSI High Traction

Product Information Print

Description
Safefloor Guard is a carbide chip containing .1" gauge sheet vinyl High Traction Safety floor. Safefloor Guard is heat-weldable.

Manufacturing Technology
Safefloor Guard is a calandered sheet vinyl with granular silicon carbide chips in the surface and features a fiberglass interlayer for dimensional stability.

Recommended Application
NFSI certified (link) High Traction Flooring is recommended for the prevention of slip and fall accidents in public wet areas. Safefloor Guard qualifies for use in food preparation and food service, for use in produce isles of supermarkets, and for A.D.A. applications, such as ramps. Transportation uses include rail cars, aircraft galleys, buses, shipboard use and transportation platforms. It is used in Healthcare, Sports, Spa's and around hot tubs Safefloor Guard is also used in oil change bays of automotive service stations.

NOTE
Any solid color vinyl flooring is more prone to show soil and scuff marks than marbleized vinyl. Do not use vinyl flooring under rubber tires. Avoid black rubber chair or equipment casters as this can cause permanent discoloration due to anti-oxidants in black rubber. Specify antistatic (gray) casters and non-smearing footwear for stage applications.

Installation & Maintenance
Installation
Follow detailed manufacturers installation instructions. (link) Use TSC-100 water based acrylic adhesive. (link) or full surface application of Sigaway® Original dry double faced textile reinforced adhesive when installing Euro-Flex over concrete, or over existing flooring, such as VAT, VCT, wood, fiberglass, epoxy or metal. Heat welding provides ultimate sanitary and bacteriological control properties, as well as chemical resistance, surface moisture resistance and must be employed whenever smooth, monolithic floors are required to prevent penetration of dust, moisture, bacteria, pathogenic substances or chemicals into seams. Rolls must be heat welded for wall to wall installation for dimensional stability. Liquid welds may only be used on walls. Make a test patch prior to installation.
Recommended Maintenance
Coarse dirt should be removed by dry and wet vacuum cleaning. Friction must be used to remove dirt from the silicone chips, which is accomplished by brushing with a deck brush or nylon scrubbing pad. An initial treatment of 1-2 coats of Taski Under-Cover Sealer, followed by 4 coats of Taski Ombra for low gloss is recommended for non wet areas. Localized marks can be treated with a machine or manual wet scouring brushes and cleaning spray. Wet clean with Taski R-50; spray and Taski Ultra Spray solution. Dirty water can be mopped up and left to dry (use 2 compartment buckets for cleaning solution and rinsing). Do not apply floor finishes or sealer in critical applications, such as commercial kitchens or other wet areas. Cigarette burns can scar the flooring; heat can damage the flooring. Use protective covers in front of ovens. Request detailed maintenance instructions for the specific use and installation.

NOTE
Do not use vinyl tiles under black rubber wheels, such as in automotive showrooms, as there can be permanent discoloration (browning) due to the antioxidants used in rubber.

Limited Warranty
Products are warranted for ONE YEAR if installed in strict adherence to all factory specifications on approved sub-floors and by trained personnel. No warranty is extended for installation on sub-floors having >2.2% moisture by the carbide method or >3.0 lbs./1000 sft. moisture by the calcium chloride test method or on on-grade or below grade sub-floors where a film moisture barrier is not provided. Products are warranted for FIVE YEARS against non-conformance to technical specifications and deterioration of properties under normal conditions of use. Warranties are limited to repairing, or at seller's option replacing products if notice of defect is given in writing and if TSC's examination shows that the products have failed under the terms and limitations of this warranty. No responsibility for the cost of removal, re-installation, or freight can be assumed under this warranty. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to determine the suitability of the materials and of the sub-floor conditions for the intended use. Color match and marble-ization are subject to commercial tolerances.

Claims for color match or any other visible material defects or damages cannot be accepted after installation.
