Eazy Tile NFSI High Traction

Product Information Print

Description
Eazy Tile is a tough, loose lay interlocking 1/3" gauge tongue-in-groove solid vinyl flooring system for heavy commercial traffic. Eazy Tile is designed for permanent or re-deployable installation over existing level floors. Old floors may have sub-floor moisture conditions, oil contamination or flaking paint.

Loose lay Eazy Tile installations have the appearance of regular glue down tile.

Eazy Tile has a wear layer of rigid, non-plasticized solid vinyl that is co-extruded onto a support layer of homogeneous plasticized vinyl. The non-plasticized rigid vinyl wear layer resists soiling and is extremely durable.

Eazy Tile HT surface is one of the Nation's first solid vinyl tiles to become High Traction Certified (August 02).

Manufacturing Technology
Eazy Tile is a made by co-extruding a rigid hard vinyl .1" (2.5mm) wear layer onto a solid, unfilled rigid .2" (5mm) backing and routing male and female grooves on the edges.

Recommended Application
Eazy Tile is used in retail stores; as portable flooring (for leased spaces,) in showrooms; public facilities; as temporary flooring in museums; in schools; in basements; in factories; in any areas with moisture problems, or wherever old flooring must be preserved (historical buildings.) Eazy Tile is the ultimate resilient solution for spaces where adhesives cannot be used on existing surfaces.

Short Form Specification
Eazy Tile shall be a 14.2" x 14.2" (360mm) loose lay rigid 1/3" (7.5mm) total gauge solid vinyl tile with a routed tongue-in-groove interlocking edges, as manufactured in the EEC for Tek Stil Concepts, Inc., P.O. Box 67, Haddonfield NJ 08033. Eazy Tile shall be in standard or custom colors, in smooth semi glossy SD (semi-dull) or coarse High Traction SD semi-dull finish, as specified by the Architect of Facility owners.

NOTE
Do not use outdoors or if building temperatures consistently exceed 85°F (softening of interlocking grooves). Do not use under forklifts or other heavy rolling loads.

Do Not apply rolling loads on carts with small (<2") casters (Loads in excess of 500 lbs/4 casters). Rolling Loads at temperatures of >85°F can cause problems with the dimensional stability of the tiles (softening of tongues).

Do not use vinyl tiles under black rubber wheels, such as in automotive showrooms, as there can be permanent discoloration (browning) due to the antioxidants used in rubber.

Installation & Maintenance
Installation
Eazy Tile is designed for loose lay application. The tile is designed to be used in areas with sub-floor moisture problems. Sub-floors must may be of concrete, wood, metal, epoxy, terrazzo or old tile and must be firm, smooth, structurally sound and even (without cracks). Grout lines of ceramic tile should be leveled (to avoid telegraphing after a period of time). Products and building shall be brought to a temperature of at least 68°F 24 hours prior to installation. Tiles shall be installed 1cm (.5") away from walls. An expansion joint shall be installed every 200-300 lft. (similar to the precautions taken when installing laminate floors). Tiles can be cut to size with a circular or hack saw with blades suitable for wood laminates. Adhesives are not required for installation, with the possible exception of perimeter taping with siga Expofix 7710-7025 2.7" (70mm) wide acrylic double faced tape for temporary installations. Eazy Tile is designed for loose lay installation over firm sub-floors. For sanitary applications, seams can be chemically welded but this renders the tiles non-removable and can cause problems in areas with hydrostatic water pressure.

NOTE
Loose lay installations of Eazy Tile are subject to thermal expansion or contraction. It is recommended to leave 1/2" (1cm) clearance from walls when installing. Provide 1"expansion joints every 300 lft.

Do not use outdoors (light fading) or if building temperatures consistently exceed 85°F . (Potential softening and dislodging of tongue-in-groove seams under rolling loads).

Eazy Tile is designed as a loose-lay product. It cannot be readily removed if fully glued, even when release adhesives are used, and glue-down should be avoided over trenches or over access floor panels which require ready access to panels and cabling beneath).

Maintenance:
Coarse dirt should be removed by vacuum cleaning or wiping with a soft brush. Unlike conventional carbide chip based vinyl safety floors Eazy Tile High Traction Surfaces are easily cleanable. Tiles are designed for high traction, and should not be waxed. Either of two maintenance methods is acceptable:
  1. An initial treatment of 1-2 coats of Taski Under-Cover Sealer, followed by 4 coats of Taski Ombra for low gloss or 4 coats of Taski Ultra for medium gloss. Localized marks can be treated with a machine or with a wet scouring pad and cleaning spray. Wet clean with Taski R-50; Taski Combi-Gloss, spray buff with Taski Ultra Spray solutions; manual or machine scrubbing may be employed. Mop and Wipe clean methods are suitable. Dirty water can be mopped up and tiles can be left to dry. Dry buffing with high speed machines is recommended. Mop and Wipe clean methods are suitable.

  2. Mopping with a diluted 64: 1 to 16:1 (depending upon the degree of soiling) Traction Plus Floor Cleaner No TP 121 (do not allow cleaner to dry on the floor tile), followed by rinsing with clean water. Manual or machine scrubbing may be employed.

NOTE
Do Not apply rolling loads on carts with small (<2") casters (Loads in excess of 500 lbs/4 casters). Rolling Loads at temperatures of >85°F can cause problems with the dimensional stability of the tiles (softening of tongues).

Do not use vinyl tiles under black rubber wheels, such as in automotive showrooms, as there can be permanent discoloration (browning) due to the antioxidants used in rubber.

Limited Warranty
Products are warranted against wear for ONE YEAR if installed in strict adherence to all factory specifications on approved sub-floors and by trained personnel. Products are warranted for FIVE YEARS against non-conformance to technical specifications and deterioration of properties under normal conditions of use. Warranties are limited to repairing, or at seller's option replacing products if notice of defect is given in writing and if TSC's examination shows that the products have failed under the terms and limitations of this warranty. No responsibility for the cost of removal, re-installation, or freight can be assumed under this warranty. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to determine the suitability of the materials and of the sub-floor conditions for the intended use. Color match and marbleizing are subject to commercial tolerances. Claims for color match or any other visible material defects or damages are not accepted after installation.
